1726 - Unique Alex & Lee 1970s Necklace
Incredible, completely handmade one-of-a-kind 'passementerie' necklace by California artists Alex & Lee, circa 1970s. In assorted shades of silver and purples, with a large molten silver disc holding a large natural amethyst. The necklace is in excellent, gently used condition, with some dirt and minor signs of wear, but no damage.

Every Alex & Lee works of art are one-of-a-kind and unique. Their pieces have been featured in major magazines and runway shows. Their new pieces are sold in a handful of galleries, and the necklaces begin at $2,000.

"Each piece is entirely handmade by Lee and Greg in their studio and home in Oakland, California. The unmistakable trademark of Alex & Lee is cord knotting in the tradition of passementerie (French or Italian for ‘passing of the cord’). Stone and mineral unbound by metal suggests entirely organic and natural origins. Utilizing the play of color, texture, and luster, the marriage of fiber, mineral, and objet’ trouve’, a dialogue of contrast and harmony is created that intrigues the eye and imagination."
